Jim DeJong ’73 on Paying It Forward with Endowed Scholarships

Jim DeJong ’73

From the time I started thinking about where I would attend college, Carroll was always at the top of my list. It still is.

Carroll was the right choice for me. My years at Carroll were instrumental in forming me as a student—and as a person. I will be forever grateful for the professors who challenged me to think critically and to write clearly. The lessons learned and skills honed at Carroll have served me well.

My attendance at Carroll was made possible because of the scholarship assistance I received. Those scholarship opportunities were made possible because of generous alumni donations. Because my wife Patty and I believe so strongly in Carroll, we established an endowed scholarship many years ago.

With ongoing financial support from dedicated alums like us from the Class of 1973, the experience of a Carroll education will continue to be available to students for generations to come.
