There is no doubt that Carroll confirmed the path of my future. My years there gave me the knowledge, the skills, and the insights to follow that path successfully. As important, and as meaningful, are the friends of now 50 years and counting that Carroll blessed me with.
I have not lived close by since the 1970s, so “giving back” has ranged from purchasing theater season subscriptions used to allow visiting high school students to attend a show in Youmans Little Theatre, now Otteson Theatre, to these days, zooming into Alumni Council meetings. And, of course, $$! Yes, cash is best, as little or as much as you can share, and you have many options as to the method:
You can direct this as you wish to student scholarships, specific programs, or the Carroll Fund. Our 50th reunion page contains detailed information on the above.
However, don’t be daunted—please pay it forward/give back in any way you are comfortable! Put your name on a building if so inclined and able or donate to the Guardian Angel Fund, the Student Emergency Fund, or the Opportunity Scholarship Fund. If you live close by, be a proxy-grandparent and invite an international student to share your summer BBQ or Thanksgiving. This one would be my favorite were I close by.
